How to Install a Universal Pressure Switch Instructions 1 Turn the pressure switch's external switch to the off position. 2 Apply pipe dope to the male threads on the compressor's air pipes. Fasten the universal pressure switch to the pipes by turning them on clockwise. Tighten the pipe connections with a wrench. 3 Pull the cover off the pressure switch with your hands. Connect the accessories, like gauges, regulators and safety valves, to the switch using the reverse process you used to remove them off the original switch. 4 Loosen the electrical terminals inside the pressure switch with a screwdriver. Run the cable from the compressor's motor through the side hole in the pressure switch. 5 Fasten the green wire to the ground connection and tighten the terminal down. Connect the black wire to terminal "T1" and the the white wire to terminal "T2" and tighten the terminals down. 6 Run the power cable into the side of the pressure switch. Fasten the green wire to the ground terminal and tighten it down. 7 Wrap the black wire around terminal "L1" and tighten it down. Wrap the white wire around terminal "L2" and tighten it down. 8 Secure the wire's to the pressure switch by tightening the compression mechanism at the access holes. Install the cover back on the switch. |
