Switch Adjustment
Low Water Pressure Switch Low Water Pressure Switch Problems 3.Switch Adjustment If the pressure switch is not set correctly, the pump motor can run erratically. This will cause the pump motor to run at an excessive on-and-off operation. In most cases the pressure switch may have to be adjusted to correct this problem. As described above, the larger spring nut is used to adjust the overall pressure range. By turning the nut in a clockwise direction the pressure range will rise. Some plumbing systems may require a higher working pressure that falls in the range of a 40 PSI pump on and a 60 PSI pump off. Notice that all ranges are kept at a 20 PSI span. Pressure spans less than this can cause the pump motor to run excessively. By adjusting the smaller spring nut in a clockwise direction, the pump off pressure can be raised. Often the second smaller spring adjustment is not necessary once the large spring range is correctly set. |
