Description of Magnetic Switches
Description The switch consists of an elongated glass capsule roughly a centimeter in length and a few millimeters in diameter. Two or more wires pass through the capsule's ends. Inside, thin, stiff metal contacts sit a fraction of a millimeter apart, overlapping each other. The glass capsule is hermetically sealed, preventing corrosion on the metal contacts. Simple magnetic switches have a pair of contacts; more complex ones have several sets of contacts inside the same glass envelope. |
