Adjustment of Magnetostrictive Level Transmitter
Adjustment of Magnetostrictive Level Transmitter The sensor should be properly adjusted before to be used. When adjusting, a multimeter is required. The resolution of its voltage level should be 1mVDC or its current level is 1μADC, which is used in Zero-point and full-scale adjustment but no need adjustment on speed output. Adjustment process of Zero-point and full scale (Standard form of wire connection) ◆Install the magnetic ring into the probe rod and the magnetic ring moves from the top end of the probe rod to the bottom end of it. ◆Use screwdriver to unscrew the zero-point and full scale sealing screws on the side face of the electronic components ◆Connect the multimeter to the corresponding output line for adjustment ◆Zero-point adjustment Notice: Nominal scale is counted from a place which is 50.8mm (or the user specially designated position) distant from the hexagon base and this has been already adjusted before factory delivery. The adjustment range for the zero-point is 20% of the measured scale (In case of adverse direction, the adjustment range of this zero-point turns to the full scale adjustment range. To adjust it, a full-scale adjustment potentiometer should be adopted.) Before factory delivery, the zero-point potentiometer has been already properly adjusted at the best position. Moving the magnetic ring, zero output means electric zero-point. When performing the installation, the measured mechanical zero and electric zero should be overlapped. If the mechanical zero is not convenient to be adjusted, first fix the mechanical zero. Follow steps below to make the adjustment. A Place the magnetic ring on the required zero-point position to perform the adjustment. Note: Carefully insert the provided screwdriver into the left-side adjustment hole that comes from the side cable of the electronic component. Before screwing the screwdriver, make sure it has been properly inserted into the revolution trough of the potentiometer and do not exert great force. B Insert the screwdriver into the revolution trough of the zero potentiometer. C Adjust zero potentiometer (clockwise for amplifying the output signal, anti-clockwise for diminishing the output signal.) and make the multimeter display 0.000 ±0.001VDC or -5.000 ±0.001VDC or -10.000±0.001VDC or 4.000±0.001mADC. ◆Scale Adjustment Note: The adjustment range of the full-scale adjustment potentiometer is 20%FS. When it is adverse direction, it immediately turns to zero adjustment range. At this time use zero adjustment potentiometer to make the adjustment. A. Put the magnetic ring within the required scale adjustment range. Refer to attentions of 4A. B. Insert the screwdriver into the revolution trough of the full-scale potentiometer. C. Adjust full-scale potentiometer (clockwise for amplifying the output signal, anti-clockwise for diminishing the output signal.) and make the multimeter display 5.000 ±0.001VDC or 10.000±0.001VDC or 20.000±0.001mADC. ◆Repeat Step 4 until the zero-point and full-scale range is within the specified scope. ◆Retighten the sealing screws of the zero-point and full scale. At this point all adjustement is finished and the sensor can be normally used. Note: The explosion-proof type liquid level sensor could not be adjusted at site. |
