Metering Pump Flow Switch
Metering Pump Flow Switch The Metering Pump Flow Switch is a metering pump monitoring device. It utilizes a pressure transmitter to sense pulses from a positive displacement metering pump and monitors low flow conditions. The Metering Pump Flow Switch also alerts on the pressure condition when it reaches or falls below the factory- preset set point. It is ideal for well site pump monitoring of foam, ethanol, and other chemicals injection. Unlike other flow switches, Metering Pump Flow Switch monitors stroke volume independent of stroke rate in order to be able to alarm when only the volume has changed (check valve or seal failure, plugged pipes etc.). In addition, Metering Pump Flow Switch does not have any moving parts; therefore it provides longer life reliability. Highlighted features of the Metering Pump Flow Switch: § Real-time notification of metering pump’s operational problems prevents a complete shutdown of the pump and provides time for pump repairs § Measures pump’s stroke volume rather than stroke rate allowing pump rate to be remotely controlled without false alarms § Connects to the operator’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system or Distributed Control System (DCS) for remote control § Registered pressure device (CRN approval) suitable for high pressure and explosion proof area § No moving parts, no calibration required |
