Application of Magnetostrictive Level Transmitter It is widely used in liquid level measurement field such as petroleum, chemical industries and so on. Also it gradually becomes substitute for other conventional sensors and becomes a competitive product of liquid level measurement. For liquid storage tanks that exist on PetroChina, Sinopec and various industrial site or locations, most measurements on the liquid level inside the tank are accomplished by the way of man climbing up the tank and casting feet. Use metric steel band tape with counter weight or scale gauge to measure, manually record the reading, manually look-up table for conversion and finally obtain the oil level data. This method of measurement not only brings a large workload but also cause security problem and has not guarantee about the accuracy. Some places use capacitive or diffused silicon level indicator to do the measurement. However, this type of sensor has serious problem of zero drift and measurement deviation plus bad working stability due to long time operation, it is not popular with users. Also some other places adopt equal pressure type skin membrane level indicator or mechanical float level indicator. |
